After graduating from NYC’s HS of Music and Art at 16, Shelley Ackerman’s career started at the world-famous Improvisation Comedy Club at age 17. Soon, she began singing at Catch a Rising Star, Reno Sweeney (where she was opening act to Peter Allen), Les Mouches, the Playboy Club and many other well-known boites. Alongside Shelley’s career as a cabaret performer/actress, she studied the patterns in the heavens. Eventually, astrology eclipsed all and after obtaining the then candidate Bill Clinton’s precise birth time from his mom (Virginia Kelley) in 1992, she turned pro and began lecturing, teaching and writing. I’ve written for TheAesthete.com, AOL, Beliefnet.com, The Mountain Astrologer, numerous newspapers and periodicals, including The NY Post (I created the first NY Real Estate Horoscope which ran annually 2003-2010), NY Daily News, The Westchester Guardian, New Woman Magazine, Sports Illustrated for Women, and was on the cover of The Wall Street Journal (when Pluto was booted from the Solar System). Radio/TV credits include: Access Hollywood, Sirius Radio, Gayle King’s Show, The O’Reilly Factor, WOR radio (frequent contributor) ABC, CBS, and NBC. My approach to astrology is precise, creative and humanistic.
